APSA Bystander Intervention Training

APSA will hold two Bystander Intervention Training Sessions at the 2018 APSA Annual Meeting in Boston, MA.

Date/Time:

  • Session I: Thursday, August 30, 2018, at 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm, Hynes 302
  • Session II: Friday, August 31, 2018 at 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm, Hynes 207

Location: Onsite at the 2018 Annual Meeting in Boston

Purpose: To provide session participants with concrete skills to safely intervene in a situation or interaction that is potentially harmful to another. To foster a culture of respect.

Description: In keeping with the APSA Anti-harassment Policy for annual meetings, conferences and workshops, APSA expects meeting attendees to be able to enjoy a safe, professional meeting environment in which they can engage in their professional and scholarly pursuits, free from harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any form. To that end, APSA will provide this training to provide strategies and examples of how meeting attendees can help ensure that we maintain a culture of respect and professionalism, where the free exchange of ideas is able to flourish.
