Sustainability

APSA is working with its partners to help make the Annual Meeting more sustainable. Offerings include:

  • Option to have an electronic program or mobile app in lieu of a printed program
  • Recyclable badge stock without plastic holders
  • Recyclable tote bags and lanyards
  • Signs are printed on eco-friendly materials

Additionally, APSA recognizes the affect air travel has on the climate. As such, APSA would like to provide  voluntary carbon offset programs for attendees to consider. Tufts Climate Initiative did a study, “Voluntary Offsets for Air-Travel Carbon Emissions (2007),” and recommended these four companies for carbon offsets:

Other ways to reduce your footprint include:

  • Taking the Metro from the airport and around the city
  • Bring along a reusable water bottle to refill
  • Opting out of daily linen replacement service
  • Recycling
