TLC at the APSA Annual Meeting<\/a>
The second TLC at APSA (Teaching and Learning Conference at APSA) will take place Saturday, August 31, 2019 in Washington, DC as part of the 2019 Annual Meeting. This full-day event seeks to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning and enhance the role of teaching in the discipline of political science.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Panel Series on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Discipline: Shared Commitments, Institutional Challenges<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>
<\/b>Attend a special series of theme panels to address the central challenges to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within in the discipline. The day will combine sessions focused on practical strategies and tactics as well as those engaging in broader questions and diverse perspectives regarding these challenges. The series is open to all.\u00a0All panels will take place Friday August 30, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Introducing: The APSA Career Center<\/a>

Attend Dissertation Workshops<\/a>
APSA sponsors dissertation workshops on the Wednesday prior to the APSA Annual Meeting. Each full-day workshop includes six PhD candidates who present a dissertation chapter, along with two faculty members who lead the workshop and moderate discussions. PhD candidates interested in participating in one of these workshops are encouraged to apply\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Film Series & Panel Discussions<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 NEW!<\/em><\/strong><\/span>
The program chairs have selected a number of films related to the theme to run throughout the meeting featuring documentaries such as\u00a0Knock Down the House,<\/em>\u00a0a Netflix Original,\u00a0What Is Democracy?,\u00a0<\/em>and more!\u00a0All films will be in Marriott, Salon 2. A panel discussion will follow each film!\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

2019 Working Groups<\/a>
<\/b>Annual meeting Working Group consist of a small group of meeting attendees who are interested in a common topic and who agree to attend panels and plenary sessions aligned on a similar topic. They convene at the meeting for discussion. To join a working group, prospective participants can email the contacts\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
