We are committed to the health and safety of our members, exhibitors, and partners. We continue to work diligently with Safe Expo, our experienced event health and safety company, to help plan the event to meet venue, local, state, and federal guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to ensure our event is as safe as possible to protect you and your families, all APSA attendees and staff, and our communities.<\/p>\n<p><b>Please review the following page about what to expect onsite at the 2021 APSA Annual Meeting. <\/b>Please check back often for updates based on CDC, state, and local guidance.<\/p>\n<h2>Plan for Change<\/h2>\n<p>As an in-person attendee, you can expect the following to keep you, your colleagues, our staff, and our partners safe:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vaccination Verification\u00a0 Required for Attendance:\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>With the constantly evolving Delta variant and after consultations with our health and safety partner and association leadership, we have decided to update APSA\u2019s attendance policy to <strong>require that anyone wishing to attend the APSA Annual Meeting in-person must provide proof of having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19<\/strong>. Fully vaccinated means 14 days have passed since your final dose. Given the current environment, we are taking this step to keep our attendees, their families, and communities safe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attendees will only be admitted to APSA\u2019s Annual Meeting with proof of having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vaccine verification will include <a href=\"https:\/\/mgl.ud.net\/fmi\/webd\/apsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>uploading a vaccine card<\/b><\/a> showing proof of full vaccination to Safe Expo\u2019s system for their review and approval. If you are not comfortable uploading your card, you are able to show proof of full vaccination onsite.\u00a0If you upload your vaccination card and are approved, you will be emailed a purple confirmation. Your card information is then deleted from Safe Expo\u2019s system. You will need to show the vaccine verification purple confirmation in order to pick up\/print your badge. To access your vaccine verification purple confirmation, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/mgl.ud.net\/fmi\/webd\/apsa\">verification upload site<\/a> and enter your email.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/registration-hours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View the full process here.<\/a>\u00a0Since vaccine verification is now required, attendees will not have to do a daily temperature screening. <strong>Cards must be <a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/mgl.ud.net\/fmi\/webd\/apsa\">uploaded to the Safe Expo portal<\/a> by Friday, September 24.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Fully vaccinated means 14 days have passed since your final dose. Therefore, you must have received the final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine prior to September 15, 2021, to be considered fully vaccinated. No exceptions will be made to this policy.<\/p>\n<h4><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/mgl.ud.net\/fmi\/webd\/apsa\">Upload your vaccine verification documents here.<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>International Attendees: International proof of vaccination can also be <a href=\"https:\/\/mgl.ud.net\/fmi\/webd\/apsa\">uploaded through the portal<\/a> by Friday, September 24, and follows the World Health Organization&#8217;s (WHO) guidance of acceptable vaccines. If you have any questions regarding the<a href=\"https:\/\/covid19.trackvaccines.org\/agency\/who\/\"> World Health Organization approved list of vaccinations<\/a> allowed to attend APSA or\u00a0 questions about your vaccination documents, please email <a href=\"mailto:ambassador@safexpo.org\">ambassador@safexpo.org<\/a>. If you plan to show international proof of vaccination onsite, please email ambassador@safeexpo.org to confirm it meets the aforementioned criteria.\n<p>We recognize there are global vaccine inequities and that our policy may unfortunately affect the ability of some of our international attendees to attend the event. We also recognize that some attendees may no longer choose to participate in the in-person meeting with a vaccine requirement.\u00a0Given the changing environment with Delta, this policy was indicated by our experienced health and safety partner as the safest way for us to hold the event in Seattle. Additionally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doh.wa.gov\/Emergencies\/COVID19\/Travel\">Washington State<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/travelers\/travel-during-covid19.html\">CDC do not recommend travel<\/a> until you are fully vaccinated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you were planning to present in-person but are now participating virtually, we offer the opportunity for participants to pre-record their presentations. The <a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/pre-recorded-presentations\/\">pre-recorded presentations<\/a> will be featured on the virtual platform and will have a chatbox for feedback from panelists and other attendees. These presentations will be available before, during, and after the event for up to six months. To participate in this opportunity, <a href=\"https:\/\/apsa.wufoo.com\/forms\/prerecording-registration-form\">sign up here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/health-and-safety-faqs\/\">review our FAQs<\/a>\u00a0for more information.\u00a0As always, if you have any additional questions, please reach out to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:meeting@apsanet.org\">meeting@apsanet.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Masks Are Required: <\/b>CDC-approved masks must be worn properly in the conference hotel meeting and convention center spaces at all times.\u00a0 The Convention Center and Sheraton require masks, and APSA will require masks in all meeting spaces.\u00a0 We encourage attendees to bring their own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/prevent-getting-sick\/about-face-coverings.html\">CDC-approved masks,<\/a> but some masks will also be available, in case you forget.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/prevent-getting-sick\/about-face-coverings.html\"> Learn more about CDC-approved masks and how to properly wear a mask&gt;&gt;<br \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><b>Touchless Badge Printing: <\/b>Bring your QR code on your device and scan it for a no-touch experience. All attendees must wear their badges in all meeting spaces to confirm they are an attendee, as well as to verify they are fully vaccinated.<\/li>\n<li><b>Mobile App and Digital Program<\/b> in lieu of a printed program to reduce touchpoints. Digital programs will be available on iPads in the Registration area, APSA Lounge, the Sheraton Information Desk, and the Conference Center Information Desk.<\/li>\n<li><b>Social Distancing:<\/b>\u00a0Expect to social distance in event spaces. Seating in sessions will be reduced to provide more distance.<\/li>\n<li><b>Hand Sanitizer stations<\/b> will be available around the event. We recommend frequent hand-washing. The event will also be handshake-free.<\/li>\n<li><b>Cleaning:\u00a0<\/b>The properties will fog the rooms overnight. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event, and hand sanitizer will be provided to an attendee upon registration check-in. All high-touch areas will be cleaned frequently.<\/li>\n<li><b>Exhibit Hall: <\/b>One-way, widened aisles are implemented with full-length side drape between exhibitors. The hall will be cleaned overnight. Booths have been spaced out more to allow for more distancing.<\/li>\n<li><b>Virtual Sessions:<\/b> In addition to all of the in-person sessions, in-person attendees will also have ability to watch virtual sessions or livestreamed sessions from their personal device. You are welcome to participate from your hotel room, but APSA will also set aside a limited number of rooms with tables and chairs to allow you to participate from the meeting space between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (all APSA hotels have complimentary internet for attendees in their guest rooms for earlier and later hours). Please bring your own device if you wish to participate virtually from onsite.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/ams.apsanet.org\/portals\/54\/docs\/Waiver824.pdf\"><br \/><strong>Waiver of Liability<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>APSA has partnered with SafeExpo to provide a safe meeting experience for all participants. All in-person participants must provide proof of being fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means 14 days must have passed since your final dose. International proof of vaccination is accepted, but must meet the World Health Organization&#8217;s list of approved vaccines.
