This year\u2019s in-person conference currently offers almost 550 panels, roundtables, lectures, short courses, and workshops, addressing the latest scholarship in political science.<\/p>\n<h3>Vaccination Verification Required for Attendance<\/h3>\n<p>With the constantly evolving Delta variant and after consultations with our health and safety partner and association leadership, we have decided to update APSA\u2019s attendance policy to require that anyone wishing to attend the APSA Annual Meeting in-person\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mgl.ud.net\/fmi\/webd\/apsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u><b>must provide proof of having been fully vaccinated<\/b><\/u><\/a> against COVID-19. Given the current environment, we are taking this step to keep our attendees, their families, and communities safe.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will only be admitted to APSA\u2019s Annual Meeting with proof of having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Vaccine verification will include uploading a vaccine card showing proof of full vaccination to Safe Expo\u2019s system for their review and approval. If you are not comfortable uploading your card, you are able to show proof of full vaccination onsite. If you upload your vaccination card and are approved, you will be emailed a purple confirmation. Your card information is then deleted from Safe Expo\u2019s system. You will need to show the vaccine verification purple confirmation in order to pick up\/print your badge.<\/p>\n<p>Since vaccine verification is now required, attendees will\u00a0<i>not<\/i>\u00a0have to do a daily temperature screening.\u00a0To access your vaccine verification purple confirmation, visit the verification upload site and enter your email. <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/registration-hours\">View the full process here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><a role=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/mgl.ud.net\/fmi\/webd\/apsa\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">UPLOAD YOUR PROOF OF VACCINE VERIFICATION<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Cards must be uploaded to the Safe Expo portal by <b>Friday, September 24<\/b>.<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Note:<\/b>\u00a0Fully vaccinated means 14 days have passed since your final dose. Therefore, you must have received the final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine prior to September 15, 2021, to be considered fully vaccinated. No exceptions will be made to this policy.<\/p>\n<p>Review the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/covid-19-health-and-safety\/\">COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan<\/a>\u00a0about what to expect onsite at the 2021 Annual Meeting.<\/p>\n<h3>Onsite Attendee Checklist<\/h3>\n<p>On-site Panels &amp; Sessions<br \/>\nIn-person attendees will have access to all the in-person panels onsite, as well as virtual sessions, during the conference and on-demand for up to six months on the virtual platform after the meeting. In-person participants are able to present virtually from either a designated location or their hotel room onsite.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you\u2019re attending onsite and want to participate in virtual sessions from Seattle,<b> p<\/b><b>lease remember to pack your own laptop, charging cord, and possibly a headset!<\/b><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Review\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/in-person-chairs-tips-and-instructions\/\"><u>tips and for annual meeting panel chairs<\/u><\/a>\u00a0here.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In-Person Program Highlights<\/strong><br \/>\nAll in-person participants have access to the virtual content, as well as the in-person sessions. In addition, they will have the ability to network at one of these many events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In-Person Short Courses on Wednesday, September 29 (Pre-registration required)<\/li>\n<li>In-Person Exhibit Hall<\/li>\n<li>New Member Breakfast &#8211; Thursday, September 30, at 7 a.m. (pre-registration required)<\/li>\n<li>Career Fair &amp; Coffee &#8211; Thursday, September 30 from 2 p.m. &#8211; 4 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Opening Reception &#8211; Thursday, September 30, at 7:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Member Appreciation Reception &#8211; Friday, October 1, at 3:00 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>International Attendee Reception &#8211; Thursday, September 30, at 8:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Graduate Student Happy Hour &#8211; Saturday, October 2, at 6:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As well as many other section receptions and meetings! <a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/online-program\/\">Check the online program for the latest.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Health and Safety Updates<\/h3>\n<p><b>Masks and Badges Are Required<br \/>\n<\/b>CDC-approved masks must always be worn properly in the conference hotel meeting and convention center spaces.\u00a0\u00a0The Convention Center and Sheraton require masks, and APSA will require masks in all meeting spaces.\u00a0\u00a0We encourage attendees to bring their own CDC-approved masks, but some masks will also be available, in case you forget.\u00a0For the safety of all attendees, masks must be worn unless sipping a drink or eating.\u00a0 Sound systems are available in rooms so that attendees can hear speakers with a mask on.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will <strong>not<\/strong> be admitted without a mask or badge and can be asked to leave. If you plan to attend\u00a0 reception at night upon arriving, but did not intend to participate in panels, please be sure to still stop by the screening stations during registration hours to do your first and only vaccine-verification screening in order to receive your badge for the evening reception.<\/p>\n<p><b>Registration &amp; Touchless Badge Printing<\/b><br \/>\nBring your QR code on your device and scan it for a no-touch experience. All attendees must wear their badges in all meeting spaces to confirm they are an attendee, as well as to verify they are fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Register in advance to avoid crowding in Registration. See <u><a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/registration-hours\">registration hours here<\/a>.<\/u><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Consider picking up your badge on Wednesday to avoid the historically busiest day of Thursday.<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\">If you brought your vaccine verification documents and they still need to be verified, consider stopping by the Sheraton screening station on the second floor to save time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Mobile App and Digital Program\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\nThe APSA Annual Meeting Digital program will be available on iPads in the Registration area, APSA Lounge, the Sheraton Information Desk, and the Conference Center Information Desk.\u00a0Printed programs will not be available.<\/p>\n<p><b>Social Distancing<\/b><br \/>\nExpect to social distance in event spaces. Seating in sessions will be reduced to provide more distance.\u00a0Hand sanitizer stations will be available around the event. We recommend frequent hand-washing. The event will also be handshake-free.<\/p>\n<p><b>Cleaning<\/b><br \/>\nThe properties will fog the rooms overnight. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event, and hand sanitizer will be provided to an attendee upon registration check-in. All high-touch areas will be cleaned frequently.<\/p>\n<p><b>Exhibit Hall<\/b><br \/>\nOne-way, widened aisles are implemented with full-length side drape between exhibitors. The hall will be cleaned overnight. Booths have been spaced out more to allow for more\u00a0distancing.\u00a0See the 2021 Exhibitor listing and exhibit hall hours <a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/apsa2021\/exhibit\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Virtual Access<\/strong><br \/>\nNot only do in-person attendees get access to all onsite panels, but they can also access virtual content from onsite and up to six months after the event on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>Rooms have also been set aside for in-person attendees to participate in virtual panels from Seattle from their own personal device or laptop. These rooms will feature 6&#8242; tables with chairs and an electricity drop. Meeting spaces will have general conference wifi access. We recommend bringing your device\/laptop, power cord, and headphones\/headset.<\/p>\n<p>All rooms below are open 7:30 a.m. &#8211; 5:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
