By bringing together diverse groups of researchers for intensive and focused study on issues of mutual interest, we aim to develop ongoing relationships of mentoring, support, and collaboration. To facilitate long-term connections, we provide alumni fellows with two years membership to APSA and access to small research grants. We also encourage alumni to engage with the broader community of Asian political science scholars by presenting at conferences, publishing research, and connecting with a range of similar associations, organizations, and research groups.

Since 2019, the Asia Workshops fellows have grown to include 51 PhD students and early-career scholars representing 16 countries across Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. These alumni represent a diverse group of scholars, with varied research interests and representing a range of institutions. Through their research and public service, these scholars contribute to our understanding of the specific political, social, and economic challenges that exist across the region, helping to train the next generation of students for engagement in robust peer review networks and employment in premier educational institutions.

For more information, contact asiaworkshops@apsanet.org.

Networking in Asian Political Science One of the goals of APSA’s Asia Pacific Workshops program is to support scholarly networks for early-career scholars doing political science research on East and Southeast Asia.
