Participation in the RDG is open to early-career scholars whose research focuses on Southeast Asia and who are currently based in Asia. Priority will be given to applications from scholars based in Southeast Asia. Those whose primary institutional affiliation is outside of Asia are not eligible for this program. Selected scholars will receive an APSA Travel Grant of up to $1,000 to support eligible travel and accommodation expenses. Applications were due March 8, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/asia\/2026-southeast-asia-rdg\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"957\">Learn more here<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/connect.apsanet.org\/asia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2024\/06\/2024-JF-Call-for-Applications.pdf\">.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>JPSA-APSA Working Group on \u201cCivically Engaged Research for Critical Issues in Society\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The 2025 JPSA-APSA Working Group on &#8220;Civically Engaged Research for Critical Issues in Society&#8221; provides an opportunity to share and improve research towards publication, develop new scholarly networks, and explore the use of civically engaged research in investigating some of the critical issues facing our societies. This year&#8217;s Working Group is centered on the theme of Political Transitions in Aging Societies. Organizers will cover participation costs (including airfare, accommodation, and conference registration) for up to 20 qualified applicants. The program will take place concurrently with the JPSA Annual Meeting in Tokyo, Japan from October 9-12, 2025.
