About the Centennial Center<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Centennial Center\u2019s mission is to advance the political science discipline, and we do that through a broad range of programs supporting research, teaching, and public engagement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include grant opportunities to support traditional research, and to support larger projects, including collaborations to produce innovative teaching materials<\/a>, research partnerships between practitioners and academic experts on pressing public issues<\/a>, and community-oriented programs aimed at enhancing civic engagement and efficacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our public engagement programs include a Public Scholarship Program<\/a> that trains graduate students to blog for The American Political Science Review, <\/em>and a Pracademic Fellowship Program<\/a> that places mid-career faculty in fellowships in federal agencies in DC. The Centennial Center also provides support to the Institute for Civically Engaged Research (ICER), a summer methods workshop that trains political scientists in best practices for conducting rigorous, ethical, community-engaged research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Centennial Center is supported by an advisory board of six APSA members who help guide the center\u2019s operations. To meet the current members of our advisory board click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
