The Special Projects Grant is subject to the availability of funds and APSA Council approval.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Learn more below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special Projects Fund Call for Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Projects must be evidence-based and provide wider benefits for the profession and the discipline. Projects must be collaborative (involving multiple political scientists, ideally from multiple institutions) and can be focused on any area of disciplinary work, inclusive of teaching, research, service, and public engagement. Proposals that are for a traditional scholarly project (e.g. production of a single author book or journal article) will not be accepted. We welcome and encourage proposals involving scholars from a diverse and varied set of backgrounds, approaches, and fields of study.<\/p>\n<p>Past projects have advanced disciplinary knowledge, networks, and impact around a broad range of issues including climate justice, sexual discrimination and harassment, the cross-national study of race in the Americas, civically engaged research, Chinese politics, and support for junior women of color in the discipline.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sample projects may include, but not be limited to the following:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559685&quot;:180}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"30\" data-aria-posinset=\"0\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Regional or local teaching &amp; For example, your project may involve a conference aimed at addressing a challenge facing the discipline, but which will only actively involve a small portion of political scientists. How will you ensure that those activities are accessible to and benefit the broader discipline? How can you ensure that participants are drawn from a wide pool of applicants? Can you live-stream the event or a portion of it? How will you disseminate results? In what formats? Will you produce resources or materials that others could make use of? Will you hold a follow-up panel or event at a future annual meeting?
