With three weeks to go to the historic 2020 presidential election, the National Conference of Black Political Scientists (NCOBPS) and the American Political Science Association (APSA) present, \u201cBlack Voter Turnout in 2020: The Intersections of Politics, Protest and Pandemics,\u201d<\/a><\/strong> on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 3:00-4:30 p.m. EDT.<\/p>\n

This dynamic virtual town hall brings together expert scholars in Black politics and gender politics to explore and reflect on the challenges and opportunities of strategic political action. Moderated by\u00a0Tiffany Willoughby-Herard<\/a>\u00a0(University of California, Irvine) and\u00a0Wendy Smooth<\/a>\u00a0(The Ohio State University), the virtual town hall brings research-based responses and mature, civil conversations about the politics of the day.<\/p>\n

Speakers will discuss Black women’s organizations and mobilization, Black women voters and the gender gap, 2020 voter demographics and party strategy, and the \u201cBlack male problem\u201d through the lens of Black and gender politics.<\/p>\n
