Dear all,<\/p>\n

I hope you have had a great summer. As you will see below we have a long list of items to discuss in the section meeting during the APSA conference (Thursday, Sept 1 at 6.15-7.15 followed by a reception at 7.30-9.00).<\/p>\n

Before listing the agenda items, I encourage each of you to<\/p>\n

–renew the section membership<\/p>\n

–subscribe your institution to our journal (Politics and Religion<\/em>)<\/p>\n

–volunteer for award committees (please let me know if you want to serve in book, dissertation, or paper award committees).<\/p>\n

The agenda:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 – Politics and Religion<\/em> has a 2.5-year backlog.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To solve the problem we need more pages (we now have 3 issues per year * 7 articles per issue).<\/p>\n

Two options:<\/p>\n

a) 4 issues per year * 8 articles per issue = $4 increase in dues<\/p>\n

b) 4 issues per year * 7 articles per issue = $2 increase in dues<\/p>\n

2 – Journal Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I emailed before, the following is the link to the CVs and Proposals of the three candidates for the journal's editorship:<\/p>\n

The meeting participants will decide whether to rank the proposals per se, or to mix candidates by constructing new co-editorships, especially for balancing the expertise on American Politics and CP\/IR.<\/p>\n
