Proposals may address any topic of theoretical, empirical, and practical significance for the study of religion and politics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Effective proposals will make clear what the author(s) intend to do, why that research is important, and how the project will be executed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Proposals should have the following components:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Cover Page<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: This should contain project title, author(s), institutional affiliation(s), title(s), email address(es), and a project abstract of 250 words or less.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Narrative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: This text should be no more than three pages, single-spaced, in a standard font. The narrative should have (at a minimum) the following sections:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Project Overview<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Background and Literature Review<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Research Design and Analysis Plans<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Brief Budget and Narrative Explaining Budget<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: Authors may request up to $2,500.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please note that funds may be used for research purposes, such as hiring of research assistants, survey data collection and interviews, purchasing of data, or travel expenses (e.g., travel, lodging, food, ground transportation).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Funds may not be used for salary or honoraria for the researcher.
