The Caucus for a Critical Political Science (CCPS)<\/h1>\n

The purpose of this section is to help make the study of politics relevant to the struggle for a better world.<\/h2>\n

Founded in 1967, The Caucus for a Critical Political Science (CCPS) (formerly The Caucus for a New Political Science) is an organization of political scientists united by the idea that political science as an academic discipline should be committed to advancing progressive political development. The caucus plays an active role in the affairs of the\u00a0American Political Science Association<\/a> (APSA) through its role as the Organized Section for a Critical Political Science, which was established in 1992.\u00a0 The caucus\/section publishes a journal, New Political Science: A Journal of Politics and Culture (NPS). As an APSA section, the association organizes a group of panels for each annual meeting, often in cooperation with other organized sections.\u00a0 Members of the APSA may join the section and, therefore, the caucus by paying their annual association dues.<\/p>\n

For more information on the origins and purposes of CNPS, click here<\/a>. The yearly membership dues are $5.00 for students and $35.00 for other members. A subscription to New Political Science: A Journal of Politics and Culture<\/a><\/em> is included with membership, published four times per year in hard copy and electronic access form.<\/p>\n

Any member of the CCPS can voluntarily opt in<\/a> to the listserv by sending an email to the listserv address: newpolsci@u.washington.edu<\/a>. The listserv is reserved for CCPS business announcements, job advertisements, conference announcements, notices of new books or special issues of journals that may interest our members, and other items of professional interest. The listserv should not be used as a platform for advancing personal political causes or engaging in online political debates.<\/p>\n
