\u200bWe encourage anyone interested in studying the role of networks in politics or policy to join the Political Networks organized section of the American Political Science Association.\u00a0 Graduate student members of APSA can now join the section for FREE!<\/strong>\u00a0 (No strings attached!)<\/p>\n

Our section was founded in 2009 and has had a big impact on the scholarly community. We have organized an annual Political Networks conference, panels at the annual APSA conference, and an active online colloquium with open attendance.<\/p>\n

These activities have resulted in a well-connected community of people interested in political networks across subfields and beyond political science. At our annual conference, we hold training workshops and other activities resulting in better training and scholarly exchange. The section and its activities have resulted in a new generation of scholars contributing to the study of political networks. The annual conference and other activities are a place where junior researchers and senior leaders in the field can easily connect.<\/p>\n

The section has also increased the visibility of its members, which has in turn resulted in better selection of peer reviewers by journals and a greater share of network research in leading disciplinary outlets. In addition to increasing attention in the discipline, political networks have also become popular in popular journalism and the data science community.<\/p>\n

These successes are due in part to the concerted efforts of our section’s members.<\/p>\n
