European Politics and Society is an organized section of the American Political Science Association (APSA) dedicated to advancing the study and teaching of European politics. Founded in 1989, the section brings together scholars at all career stages who explore the many dimensions of European political life. We also collaborate with related sections and other groups to strengthen the broader community of scholars working in this field.
We are committed to fostering diversity in research, teaching, and scholarly approaches. Our section welcomes work focused on different regions of Europe, employing a wide range of methodologies, and engaging with the most substantively important questions in the study of European politics. We actively support all members of our academic community—regardless of gender identity, ethnicity, race, or national origin—including graduate students, early-career researchers, faculty in contingent positions, and educators at community colleges.
