WPSA 2020: Interpretive Methods and Methodologies Preconference Workshop April 8, 2020

IMM is pleased to share an invitation to the Interpretive Methods and Methodologies Preconference Workshop at the Western Political Science Association (WPSA), Wednesday, April 8, 2020 J.W. Marriott Hotel, Los Angeles, CA.

Participants in this pre-conference gather to discuss research approaches that foreground questions regarding the meanings that political actors make of events, processes, movements, problems, institutions, and power relations. Please join to discuss rationales and strategies for educating political science colleagues and interlocutors on qualitative-interpretive research methods; workshop a forthcoming book with the author; and discuss experiences using interpretive methods in our own work with all colleagues present.

The preconference includes a workshop with Farah Godrej regarding her new book, Prison Yoga and Meditation (forthcoming 2021, Oxford University Press).

Political scientists and theorists from all subfields with interests in ethnographic fieldwork, participatory-action and socially-engaged research, discourse analysis, and other qualitative methods are warmly encouraged to attend.

For complete details please see the Workshop Schedule, or contact the Workshop Organizer, Farah Godrej, godrej@ucr.edu.
