The #MeTooPoliSci Working Group is a collaboration between the #MeTooPoliSci ADVANCE research team and the American Political Science Association. This Working Group provides an opportunity for APSA members to help shape strategies to decrease the prevalence of sexual harassment and other exclusionary behavior in academic political science. We will also be co-sponsoring a number of panels and roundtable sessions on topics relevant to the culture and climate of political science.
How to Get Involved:
The #MeTooPoliSci Working Group will be holding a number of focus groups and workshop demonstrations to help us better understand the ways that sexual harassment manifest themselves in our discipline. We are currently recruiting political scientists to participate in our virtual focus groups and workshop demonstrations. In the focus group sessions, we will discuss your experience of the climate in your academic department. In the workshop demonstration sessions, we’ll demonstrate some innovative classroom activities that help faculty members facilitate empathetic connections with and among their students. We will conclude with a discussion of ways to develop these ideas to fit the needs of our diverse teaching environments. For more information or to sign up, click here.
