L. Felipe Mantilla

Luis Felipe Mantilla is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of South Florida’s School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies. His research focuses on religious political parties, religious mobilization and conflict, and cultural heritage destruction, with a regional emphasis on Latin America and the Middle East. His recent book, How Political Parties Mobilize Religion: Lessons from Mexico and Turkey (Temple University Press), compares the evolution of religious political parties across Catholic and Sunni Muslim majority countries. His work has been published in journals including Democratization, Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Journal of Peace Research, Party Politics, and Politics and Religion, among others.
