The section promotes communication among members through the annual conference, APSA Connect, and our affiliated journal, Urban Affairs Review. Our awards recognize high-quality research contributions and service to the profession.

For awards deadlines and nominations, please see information in the awards pages accessible through the pull-down menu at the top of this page.

The Urban and Local Politics Section of the American Political Science Association stands in solidarity with protestors in cities and localities across the country demanding an end to police violence and the economic and political marginalization of Black people and people of color in the United States.

In order to forward the conversation around issues of racial justice, equality, police justice, we urge all section members to share relevant work through our section forum on APSA Connect. We hope to create a space for reflection as well as a practical portal of resources for teaching and research.
