State Politics and Policy, Section 22

Welcome to the State Politics and Policy website!

The State Politics and Policy Section of American Political Science Association works to promote scholarly research and the exchange of ideas in the field of state politics and policy, broadly defined.

The purpose to this section is to further our understanding of the American states including their institutions, political actors, policies, and local, national, and international influence.

SPPC 2026 will be held Thursday, June 4-Saturday, June 6. The conference website is available here. The conference will be hosted in Chicago by Eric Hansen and Agustin Markarian of Loyola University Chicago and Alexandra Filindra of the University of Illinois Chicago. A conference website, as well as details about submissions, will be coming this fall. For now, if you have any questions about the conference, contact Eric Hansen (ehansen4@luc.edu).
