On 25 April 2025, the Human Rights Section hosted an online panel in advance of the Annual Convention to discuss the history of the Section, its founding, major milestones and how it has navigated key issues within the discipline, study of human rights and current events. This panel was part of the Section’s 25th anniversary celebration this year. The panel was moderated by Section President Dr. Gary Uzonyi (University of Strathclyde), and the panelists were past Section Presidents Dr. Zehra Arat (University of Connecticut), Dr. George Andreopoulos (CUNY-John Jay College), Dr. Todd Landman (University of Nottingham), Dr. Carol Gould (Hunter College) and Dr. Brian Greenhill (SUNY-Albany).
