Congratulations on receiving your grant! We look forward to seeing the results of your work.

When news of your grant is publicized, the benefits are widespread. You and your institution receive recognition for the work you do. This can spark additional support for your project, help you to identify potential outlets or collaborators, and can lead to increased support for the funds that made your work possible.

We want to assist you and your institution in sharing your project with academic communities as well as the general public, so we ask that you keep us informed as your grant project moves forward. If there is something about your project that is particularly noteworthy (a major event, publication, award, milestone, or endorsement, for instance), please let us know know via e-mail (centennial@apsanet.org) or phone. We are eager to help you get the word out and share the results of your award.

While APSA publicizes and announces many grant awards, you and your institution may want to go into more detail about your funded efforts. Members of your local media may also be interested in hearing directly from you because you as the expert on your work and results.

COMMUNICATIONS GUIDELINES
We request acknowledgement of The Centennial Center’s funding in all communications related to the project, including: press releases, website content, newsletters brochures, annual reports; or other promotional materials.

Press Releases, Award Announcements, and Event Coverage
Many of our recipients successfully earn media coverage when they share news of their grant with their institution’s communications office. You may also consider working with your communications offices to send a press release to your local media.

For event-based projects, your institution’s communications office may also be interested in covering the event and may be able to provide a photographer for the event. We highly encourage recipients to contact communications offices when they receive notification that they have been awarded a grant and in advance of funded events, and to request coverage of the event, including photography.

If your work receives coverage from your institution or local or national news, please share it with us by e-mailing a link to cenennial@apsanet.org. Be sure to include the project title, grant fund, and PI name in your message.

Social Media
You might also consider sharing news of your grant with colleagues and friends via social media. Sample language-

Facebook:
I/we just received a grant from the [Insert Name of Fund] at @likeAPSA. We’re thrilled that this funding will enable us to [Insert 10-20 word project description here].

Twitter:
I/we just received a grant from @APSAtweets for our research/project/program etc. We’ll be using the funding to [insert brief description of aims here]. [You may also wish to share a link to the relevant grant program page].

Acknowledgement Language

Please use the following language to acknowledge your grant:
“This project has been supported by a grant from (name of fund here), a fund of The American Political Science Association’s Centennial Center.”

Our Name and Organization Description

Please use “The American Political Science Association’s Centennial Center” when referring to the organization. When including a description, please use the following:

APSA’s Centennial Center was founded in 2003 with the aim of advancing political science research, teaching, and public engagement. Since then, the Centennial Center has hosted over X events at their space in APSA’s Washington, DC headquarters, and awarded more than $1? million in grants. Ongoing Acknowledgement

When the Community Foundation has provided significant funding in the past to a program or event (e.g. important start-up funding), we would appreciate that support being acknowledged
in special stories or literature about the program/event, such as ten-year anniversaries or other coverage.

We would love for you to use our logo on any printed materials or on your website, we just ask that you contact us so that we can provide several formats for best reproduction.
