2019 Pedagogical Partnership Grants winners

The American Political Science Association seeks proposals from groups of members interested in improving the 2-year to 4-year pipeline, fostering connections between faculty across higher education institutions, and producing cutting-edge teaching materials. Peer to Peer Pedagogical Partnership grants are an initiative of the APSA Presidential Task Force on New Partnerships, which aims to deepen ties between political scientists and strengthen the contributions of political science to the public good.

Peer to Peer Pedagogical Partnership grants have four inter-related aims:

  1. To create partnerships among colleagues at different kinds of higher education institutions in the same geographic region.
  2. To support colleagues in generating cutting-edge teaching materials based on recent research.
  3. To assist faculty at more research-intensive institutions in teaching and mentoring first-generation, under-represented minority, and economically disadvantaged students in ways they might not otherwise have done.
  4. To enable colleagues at more teaching-intensive institutions to teach materials that they would not otherwise have the time to teach.

Organizers (PIs) from all higher education institutions, including community colleges, regional public institutions, small liberal arts colleges, and large private and flagship public PhD-granting institutions are welcome and encouraged to apply. All P4 proposals should include at least one PI from a community college and one PI from a PhD-granting institution. Proposals with the greatest institutional diversity among participants – given the institutions present in their geographic area – will be given priority. This institutional diversity can be among organizers/PIs and/or among those who have committed to participate in the P4 program.
