Detailed Instructions for Submitting

To submit a Research Group application or a general paper/panel proposal, you must first be logged into the Virtual Research Meeting submission system using your APSAnet.org username and password. Once logged in, you will have one (1) hour to complete your application or proposal submission. A timer will be displayed in the upper right hand corner of the page to show your remaining time. Please note that you cannot save a partially constructed proposal. Instead, we recommend submitting any partial proposal, as you can return to the system and edit your proposal(s) up until the deadline of Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.

Quick Tips

Once logged into the system, follow these quick tips for the smoothest application or submission process:

  • Avoid using the “back” button while in the submission system on your web browser.
  • Please note each page includes its own distinct instructions. Be sure to read all before moving on.
  • Your actions are not saved until you click “Accept and Continue” at the bottom of each page/step.
  • After you review your application or proposal information on the final page, click “Save.” You should receive a confirmation email following your submission.
  • Please ensure you receive a confirmation email from do_not_reply@allacademic.com before exiting the system.
  • You must have an APSA account to submit a proposal. If you do not have an APSA account, you can create a complimentary one here: www.apsanet.org/Registration.
  • The deadline for both Research Group applications and general paper/panel submissions is Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.

Submission Deadlines

  • October 19, 2023: Research Group applications open; Submission system opens for general paper & panel proposals
  • October 19, 2023: General paper & panel proposal submission deadline; Research Group application deadline
  • November 8, 2023: Virtual Meeting notifications/invitations go out (Research Groups & general submissions)
  • November 20, 2023: Deadline for participant invitation responses
  • January 5, 2024: Deadline for panel participants to register for the meeting
  • January 18, 2024: Paper uploads due (if applicable)

Research Group Application Options

The 2024 Virtual Research Meeting will feature several Research Group workshops one can apply for on a variety of topics. Each Research Group will consist of 10-20 participants. Due to limited space and overlapping meeting times, each candidate may only apply to one Research Group Workshop. Research Group applications are now closed.

General Proposal Submission Options

This virtual conference will also include general sessions relating to the meeting theme of “Challenges in Political Science.” For general proposals, submitters will be able to select up to three (3) keywords for their proposal. The program committee will review and create general panels out of proposals received by the submission deadline. General paper & panel submissions are now closed.
