To support APSA Annual Meeting members and attendees who require childcare to attend the meeting, APSA is now offering an opportunity to apply for a limited number of reimbursements (up to $250 per family) to help subsidize the cost of childcare in Los Angeles for in-person APSA members at the 2023 Annual Meeting. The deadline to apply to be considered for a childcare reimbursement is August 4, 2023.

Eligibility Requirements for Childcare Reimbursement:

  • Applicant must be an APSA Member registered to attend the in-person APSA Annual Meeting;
  • Allowable reimbursements include child care services in LA (arranged by the attendee) for one or more dependents requiring it and/or travel of a caregiver, who is not a parent/legal guardian of the dependent(s) to Los Angeles;
  • Must have one or more dependents requiring childcare in Los Angeles (arranged by the attendee) to attend the Meeting;
  • Only one caregiver per family may apply;
  • Reimbursements are not intended to cover routine childcare costs that a member is already paying on a day-to-day basis and cannot be used to pay another parent/legal guardian for care of the dependent
  • Preference will be given to applicants in the early stages of their careers;
  • Reimbursements will not cover other miscellaneous costs related to childcare, such as meals, travel, and activities;
  • Itemized receipts must include childcare service provider name (based in Los Angeles), dates of service (during the meeting), amount of service, and provider signature;
  • All itemized receipts must be uploaded by September 22, 2023. A new form will be sent for these uploads after the Annual Meeting; 
  • Once the receipt is uploaded and approved, payment will be made by APSA promptly.  A 1099 form may be sent for your records should the federal reporting guidelines be met.
